At ordinary times, we always are so busy with our jobs that we have little time to converse with colleagues. The formation of Zhengtianqi basketball team allowed us to slowly become a more coherent team. We work as a team on the basketball court, helping each other to defeat rivalries, with every viewer offering advice about how to make this team stronger. More exchanges and contacts allow us to better understand each colleague and become more willing to help each colleague. As a salesperson who joined Zhengtianqi for more than a year, I saw my seniors more willing to share their experience and lessons with us new guys after I had more conversations with them, allowing us to avoid pitfalls at work. Such an increasingly coherent team will also enable the company to become more competitive in the future and allow the company to keep forging ahead despite the intensified industry competition.
A company can’t grow without institutional constraints, but constraining employees with mere rigid policies would inevitably not bring good results. Allowing everyone to constrain themselves mentally and be responsible to themselves and the company is the best way to do it. Basketball is a sport with strict rules in that one can show his or her best side on the court but must follow strict rules in the first place. In a basketball team, everyone on the court is supposed to be responsible for the team as the face of the team, while everyone of Zhengtianqi basketball team is supposed to responsible for winning the game for the team, as they represent the team and the company as well. The formation of the corporate basketball team made us feel more emotionally attached to the organization, gave us a greater awareness that everything we did is done on behalf of Zhengtianqi and allowed us to understand that we cannot do anything against the company’s principles. With a highly disciplined organization plus rule-abiding employees, isn’t it true that we are invincible?
For Zhengtianqi Basketball Team, which is a newly-formed basketball team, there is a skill gap among members, with some members even new to this sport. However, none of us would go absent from training by making up excuse and everyone of us still actively participate in training after a busy workday. During the training process, all players stay hunger for victory, and even those newbie players do their best to play their parts in the team. Isn’t such spirit the corporate spirit of Zhengtianqi? Since the inception of Beijing Zhengtianqi Fire Equipment Co., Ltd, the predecessors, spearheaded by their leaders, made the company become one of the industry leaders with a can-do spirit and by making more efforts than others, allowing the company to gain a foothold on the markets and receive extensive recognition of the industry practitioners. Although they have paved the way for us, we are still supposed to keep this can-do spirit alive. The formation of Zhengtianqi basketball team allowed me to see the passion and can-do spirit of every colleague for life and careers. Such a bunch of people with such spirit will surely make a difference, while the company that carries forward the can-do spirit will be blessed with a brighter future.
